Sweet Potato

We have introduced rice cereal into Whit's diet here and there over the last few weeks. He seems to tolerate it fine and is learning how to eat it from the spoon better. Today we gave him sweet potatoes mixed in with the cereal and he wasnt too thrilled with it. He eventually ate it, but didnt seem to like it. Avery loved sweet potatoes! We will try again tomorrow! We are going to continue to make our baby food for now and see how it goes!

Babbling

Overnight Whit has expanded his babbling to include "gaga", "umm", "baba", and "mama". It's so strange how one day he isnt doing something and then the next day he is. It is super adorable and Im super stoked that he decided to babble mama first. Avery babbled dada for months and months before mama. I know it doesnt mean anything, but it is still cute to hear.
Whit continues to perfect his impression of a terydactyl (?).

Christmas 2010

This year Christmas was so different. Avery was old enough to understand about Santa Claus and was interested in participating in decorating the tree and making cookies for Santa. She was so suprised when she came out of her room and found all the presents under the tree. She wanted to play with each of them as she opened them, making for a long Christmas morning. Grandma and Grandpa Stone came over and she enjoyed opening her presents from them. Later in the day we all went down to Grandpa and Grandma Baldwin's to eat and open presents there. It was a great Christmas!!

Avery's 2nd Birthday

Avery had a great 2nd birthday party with all her friends. We made a bunny birthday cake and decorated with pink and white streamers and balloons. We had lunch and open gifts with friends and family.

Grandma and Grandpa Stone come to visit

Jeff's grandparents came to visit on their way down to Florida for the winter. It was very cool to have 4 generations of Stones in one house! Avery loved seeing her great-grandparents again and got some good play-time in with both of them. We are very lucky to have such a great family!

Annual trip to mountains to get out Christmas tree

Every year over the Thanksgiving weekend we make a trip up to Ashe County, NC to choose and cut our own Christmas tree. Avery was a little intimidated this year and clung to us. She did enjoy seeing the cows that were in a near-by pasture. She wanted me to hold her the whole time but I couldnt because I was 8 months pregnant with Whit! I look forward to bringing both kids to choose our tree next time!

Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving was so special as we were able to celebrate with Grandma and Granpa Stone! We all went down to Gma and Gpa Baldwin's house for a turkey day feast and Avery enjoyed the plentiful amounts of attention from both grandparents! We were pleased that she tried turkey, but she wouldnt try anything else. Oh well!!

We are very thankful this year to have our family close. Happy Turkey day!!

Halloween

I have to say, this Halloween was one of the most fun times we have had with Avery! She loved dressing up as a bunny (one of her favorite animals right now) and even though she didnt quite understand what we were doing, she enjoyed going up to houses and filling her bucket with candy. She rode with her friend "Dora the Explorer" in her little motorized car and then held hands with her as they went up to each doorstep. It was very cute! Grandma and Grandpa Baldwin were at our house to answer our door while we were out. It was a very fun evening and I was so proud of her little home-made costume. It reminded me very much of the costumes my mom would have us wear as kids! What a great night!!!

Avery's Halloween Party-Trial Run on Costume

Avery's daycare had their Halloween parade and party today. Gma and Gpa Stone and Daddy came to watch. I got to try out the home-made bunny costume I made for Avery and I think it went well! Only problem was that her bunny ears wouldnt stay up and she kept taking them off! I'll have to rig them up before Halloween. She looked so cute!

Out of Nowhere...

Not a good way to spend our weekend... after nap yesterday, Avery woke up vomiting and continued to do so until late in the evening. She spent the afternoon vomiting and sleeping on our laps. It was pitiful. Not sure where this stroke of luck came from, we had a great morning playing outside and then lunchtime came and she was not quite herself. She didnt eat lunch, seemed very tired. So I put her down and she slept 2 hrs. Then it hit the fan. No more puke after about 9pm last night, she is still sleeping now (945am). Hoping today is better!
Too bad we had to cancel with Gma and Gpa Stone last night.....still got those steaks??

Pumpkin Patch at Mike's Farm

Last weekend we went to Mike's Farm for a hayride to the pumpkin patch. Avery brought a friend and Grandma and Grandpa Stone came along. We had a great time. The girls enjoyed themselves and talked all about the hayride. They had fun picking out their pumpkins, feeding the goats, chickens, and sheep, and pulling hay out of the bails. It was a fun afternoon.

Seafood Festival

We decided to face the crowd and go down to the seafood festival. Avery was able to ride a few rides. She was hesitant at first, she didnt enjoy the one called the barrel of monkies that much. She loved riding the horses on the carousel, especially with her friend Morgan. We had fun and I guess it was worth the 3$ a ride! At least the weather was nice, not scorching like last year.

Our Silly Girl

Visit with family in July

Mandy, Andrew and Maddie came to visit at the coast this summer. It was fun to see Maddie and Avery be able to play together some. Although the trip was less than smooth, we certainly enjoyed having them here!

Life's a Beach

I know I havent posted in a while (um, try about 9 months!). But I am vowing to do better. Over the summer we didnt do much. Just went to the beach a lot. Avery loves the sand and water. She tires us out wanting to play in the waves. The last few times we have gone out, the water has been very rough due to tropical storms and hurricanes. One time a couple months ago the water was nice and Jeff was able to ride the body board with Avery. She loved it!
Here is a recap of our summer at the beach.
